„Kiosk Kultur“ is a photographic documentation, which I made, on the topic of kiosks. The idea was to get an insight and document the new culture, which is emerging around the kiosks. Kiosks are currently being rediscovered as places, especially by young people. They are used to meet and exchange with other people. Moreover, kiosks are changing the cityscape more and more.
These aspects made me want to develop a better understanding, which led to that photographic documentation.
All in all I shot 72 photographs from which the ten most expressive and informative photographs where chosen. Later I developed the ten photographs in a darkroom.
While I shot the photographic documentation during my second semester at University of Applied Sciences Mainz, I developed this work further during my third semester. I was challenged to create two websites that dealt with the question on how to present creative work, in my case photography, on the web.
The first website follows a more experimental approach that combines storytelling with the presentation of photographs.
The second website has a more classical approach. Here I used a slideshow to present the photographs. Nevertheless, it was important to me that the website does not get boring and is completed with small, interactive details.
I was particularly pleased that the work was part of the exhibition "Kunst in Marburg" at the Marburger Kunstverein in 2020.
Both the ten prints of the photographs and the two websites were exhibited. I made recordings of the websites, which were then played on a screen next to the photographs.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Marburger Kunstverein for their trust and the opportunity to exhibit my work at the exhibition.
