My name is Francesco Scheffczyk (he/him). I am currently working as a digital media artist, graphic designer and creative technologist. Previously I worked as a design researcher on the joint research project KITeGG. The project aims to find ways to integrate AI into design education, teaching students about AI as a design and art tool.
Through a practice combining graphic design and coding, I explore how technology shapes our world and how we can, in turn, shape it. In my work, I translate the complex, hidden mechanisms of AI systems into accessible graphic and web-based experiences. My projects create interfaces that enable people to interact with AI tools and datasets independently, without the need for technical expertise. As a curator, I bring together artistic perspectives that critically examine the role of AI in creativity and society.
Influenced by open-source culture and concerns about technological dependency, I develop custom design tools and explore alternative publishing methods. I also explore hypermedia as an artistic medium, investigating how non-linear, interconnected digital environments can empower readers as co-authors, while considering the challenges of navigating networks without predetermined narratives.
